Campus Coffee

Terms of Use

Version 2026-07-29 · Last updated

These terms are the agreement between you and Campus Coffee. By signing in you accept them. If you don't, don't sign in — and if you've already got an account, delete it from your profile screen.

Campus Coffee is an independent student project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Manipal University Jaipur, and it is not an official university service. The university's name is used only to describe who the app is for.

Campus Coffee introduces students to each other. Everything that happens after the introduction happens between the two of you, in person, on your own responsibility. Read section 5 before you agree to meet anyone.

01Who runs Campus Coffee

Campus Coffee is run by Nashim Aktar Mondal, an individual student at Manipal University Jaipur. It is not a registered company, and it charges nothing.

Write to support@campuscoffee.online for anything covered by this document.

Grievance Officer: Nashim Aktar Mondal · support@campuscoffee.online. Complaints are acknowledged within 24 hours and resolved within 15 days, as required by the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. Complaints about a photo of you shared without consent, or about someone impersonating you, are acted on within 24 hours.

02Who can use it

You may use Campus Coffee only if all of the following are true:

  • You are 18 or older. There is no version of this app for anyone younger, and an account found to belong to a minor is deleted without notice.
  • You are a current student at Manipal University Jaipur with a working @muj.manipal.edu mailbox, and you verify it before you reach any matching pool.
  • You are using one account, your own. Not a second one, not one on someone else's behalf, not one you sell, lend or hand over.
  • You have not previously been removed from Campus Coffee for breaking these terms or the community guidelines.

Losing your student status ends your eligibility. You can keep using the account until it's noticed, but not after.

03Your account

You sign in with a Google account and prove you're a student separately, by emailing a one-time code from your college address. Both are yours to look after — anything done from your account is treated as done by you.

Your display name is taken from your verified college address and cannot be edited. That is the point of it: it's the one field on your card nobody can invent.

Tell us at support@campuscoffee.online immediately if you think someone else has reached your account.

04What Campus Coffee does — and what it doesn't

The app checks that an account holds a verified MUJ email address, and then shows students to each other. That is the whole of what it verifies.

It does not:

  • Run background checks, criminal-record checks, or any identity check beyond the college mailbox.
  • Confirm that a photo, a bio, an age, a branch or a timetable is true.
  • Supervise, attend, chaperone or monitor anything that happens when two students meet.
  • Promise you matches, a certain number of them, or that anyone will reply, turn up, or behave well.

The selfie check compares your selfie against your own photos on your own device to make impersonation harder. It is a filter, not proof of anyone's identity, and it can be wrong in both directions.

Nothing here is a promise that the app keeps working. It is free, it is one person's project, and features can change or stop.

05Meeting people in person — read this one

The point of this app is that you eventually put the phone down and meet someone. That carries real risk, and it is risk you take on yourself.

  • Meet in a public place — the mess, the library, a café on or near campus. Nowhere private, not on a first meeting.
  • Tell someone where you're going and who with, and arrange your own way there and back.
  • You can leave at any moment, for any reason or none, and you never owe anyone an explanation, a drink, contact details or a second meeting.
  • Trust the feeling. If something is off, leave first and sort it out afterwards.

In an emergency call 112. On campus, contact campus security. The women's helpline is 1091 and the national helpline for women in distress is 181.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Campus Coffee is not a party to, and is not responsible for, the conduct of any student before, during or after a meeting arranged through the app — whether online or off it.

06What you agree not to do

The community guidelines are part of these terms, and breaking them breaks these terms. On top of those, you agree not to:

  • Use the app for anything unlawful, or to break any rule of the university.
  • Harass, threaten, stalk, intimidate, or keep contacting someone who has stopped answering.
  • Post or send sexual content, nudity, or anything sexual to someone who hasn't asked for it.
  • Impersonate anyone, use someone else's photos, or lie about your age or student status.
  • Share another student's photos, messages, real name, blind-match identity or contact details anywhere outside the app.
  • Record, screenshot or re-publish a call, a chat or a reveal photo without the other person's agreement.
  • Advertise, sell, recruit, campaign, run a survey, or send bulk messages.
  • Scrape, crawl, bulk-download, automate, or use the app through anything other than its own interface.
  • Probe, load-test or attack the service, or try to reach data that isn't yours (see security for how to report a flaw properly).
  • Work around a suspension, a removal, or someone's decision not to match with you.

07Your photos, messages and posts

Everything you put into the app stays yours. You give Campus Coffee permission to store, resize, blur and display it only as far as running the app requires — showing your card to a match, your post to the campus feed, your message to the person you sent it to. Nothing is licensed for advertising, nothing is sold, nothing is used to train anything.

You confirm that what you upload is yours to upload: your own face, your own words, and nobody else's photo without their agreement.

The feed is public to every verified student on this campus. A post automatically tags the partner it's about, that partner can raise an issue and have it removed immediately, and you can delete your own posts at any time. A post removed by a tagged partner stays down until they lift it.

Screenshots exist. The app blurs faces at view time and never bakes a blur into a file, but it cannot stop another person photographing their own screen. Share accordingly.

Content that breaks these terms can be removed without notice. Where the law requires it — a court order, a lawful government direction — content is removed within 36 hours of the order reaching us.

08Location, camera and notifications

Three browser permissions are asked for, each one only when you reach the feature that needs it, and each one refusable:

  • Location — only inside a check-in window for a meeting you agreed to, and only while that screen is open. Refusing it means the check-in can't complete; nothing else changes.
  • Camera and microphone — for taking a photo or a selfie, and for the voice call that unlocks when you're both at the café. No video, and calls are not recorded.
  • Notifications — asked once, in the notification screen, never thrown at you on arrival. You can turn them off in the app or in your browser.

Withdrawing any of these in your browser settings works immediately and does not end your account.

09Pausing, deleting, and being removed

You can pause at any time — you drop out of every pool and keep your profile, photos and chats. You can delete at any time, and deletion is immediate and permanent: profile, photos, matches, messages, posts and your place in every pool go together, and none of it comes back.

Campus Coffee can suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms or the guidelines, that is reported credibly for harming another student, or where removal is needed to keep someone safe. Serious cases are reported to the university and, where a crime may have been committed, to the police.

Sections that by their nature outlive the account — the disclaimers, the liability limit, the indemnity and the governing-law clause — survive it.

10It's free, and it stays free to use

There is no fee, no paid tier, no boost to buy, no advertising and no card to enter anywhere in the app. Because nothing is sold, there is nothing to refund.

If that ever changes, it changes for new things only — nothing you already have becomes something you have to pay for.

11No warranty

Campus Coffee is provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent permitted by law, no warranty of any kind is given — that the app will be available, uninterrupted, secure or error-free; that matches will be suitable, accurate or safe; or that anything you're told about another student is true.

Notifications, alerts, check-ins and matching all depend on networks, browsers and phones that Campus Coffee does not control. A missed alert is not a broken promise.

12Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Campus Coffee and Nashim Aktar Mondal are not liable for:

  • Anything another student says, does, or fails to do — online, in person, or afterwards.
  • Indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or loss of data, opportunity, reputation or income.
  • Loss caused by the app being unavailable, by an alert not arriving, or by a check-in, match or message failing.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited in aggregate to ₹1,000 — an amount chosen because the service is free and nothing has ever been paid for it.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

13If someone sues because of you

You agree to cover Campus Coffee and Nashim Aktar Mondal against claims, losses and reasonable legal costs arising out of your breach of these terms, the content you posted, or your conduct towards another student. This does not apply to anything caused by Campus Coffee's own fault.

14Intermediary status and takedowns

Campus Coffee is an intermediary under section 2(1)(w) of the Information Technology Act, 2000. It does not initiate, select the receiver of, or modify what students write to each other. Messages, posts and photos are the responsibility of the student who created them.

It publishes these terms, the privacy policy and the community guidelines, and it will remove content it is lawfully directed to remove, within the timelines set out in the Intermediary Guidelines.

15Which law applies

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes go to the courts at Jaipur, Rajasthan, and both sides submit to that jurisdiction.

If any clause is held to be unenforceable, the rest keeps working. Not enforcing something once doesn't waive it.

16Changes to these terms

These terms can change. Anything that materially affects you is announced in the app before it takes effect, and the version and date at the top of this page always say which text is current. Carrying on using the app after a change means you accept it; if you don't, delete your account.

Current version: 2026-07-29, effective 29 July 2026.
