The menu

Four reasons to leave your room.

Every one of them ends at a table, not in a thread that dies on Thursday.

Never eat alone

Pair up for a meal, eat it, do it again tomorrow.

The streak counts plates shared, not app opens.

Study, together

Fill in your timetable once. It finds whoever is free when you are.

Lock a two-hour slot and a desk in the reading room.

Two days, no photos

A name you've never seen, and twenty-four hours to make up your mind.

Nobody ever finds out they were turned down.

Actually meet

A place, a time, and the colour you said you'd be wearing.

It ends with one photo the two of you take together.

How it works

Three taps and one walk.

  1. 01

    The pour

Ten in the morning, three names. Not a stack you can scroll — three. When they're gone, they're gone until tomorrow.

  2. 02

    The token

Tap whoever you'd genuinely sit with. If they tap back, a token prints: a place, a time, and the colour you'll be wearing.

  3. 03

    The table

You both check in within thirty metres of the spot. Ten minutes later the app has nothing left to do, and you're still talking.

The whole thing is over in ten minutes. That's the point.

Blind coffee

24 hours.
No photos.
Just talk.

You get a first name and a window. For a day you can say anything except what you look like. When it closes you each answer one question, privately — coffee, yes or no?

Two yeses and you meet. One no and nobody is ever told.

Morning person, or a 2am person?

2am. Which explains my attendance.

Same. Coffee at 11 then, we'd both be useless earlier.

Only a mutual yes lifts the blur

The short list

What we left out.

Every one of these would have made the numbers go up.

  • The swipeA slot machine that produced matches nobody ever met.
  • The infinite feedWhen the day's three are gone, the app says so and shuts up.
  • Public ratingsReliability exists here. It's invisible, and it only reorders a queue.
  • Read receiptsNothing in a blind window should make you anxious about a grey tick.
  • A penalty for cancellingSaying you can't make it is free. Only going silent costs you.

Straight answers

Before you hand over your email.

Everything below is how the app actually behaves, not how we'd like it to sound.

What is Campus Coffee?

Campus Coffee is a free app for Manipal University Jaipur students that finds you someone to eat with in the mess, study with in the library, or meet for coffee. Every morning at ten it hands you three names, picked from your mess hours and your free periods. Tap whoever you'd genuinely sit with — if they tap back, you both get a token with a place and a time on it.

How is Campus Coffee different from a dating app?

There is no swiping and no feed to scroll. You get three names a day instead of an endless deck, and when they're gone the app says so and shuts up until tomorrow. Two of the four features aren't romantic at all — a mess partner for meals and a library partner for study hours. Every match is aimed at a table twenty minutes from now, not a thread that dies on Thursday.

Who can join Campus Coffee?

Students at Manipal University Jaipur. You sign in with Google, then prove you're on campus by emailing a one-time code from your @muj.manipal.edu address. Nobody without a verified college email reaches a matching pool. Verification reads the sender address and nothing else — message bodies are never stored.

Is Campus Coffee free?

Yes, completely. There is no paid tier, no boost to buy, no ads and no card to enter. Nothing about who you see or how often you're seen is for sale.

What is blind coffee?

Blind coffee is a 24-hour anonymous match. You get a first name and a window — no photos, no profile — and for a day you can say anything except what you look like. When the window closes you each answer one private question: coffee, yes or no? Two yeses and you meet. One no, and the other person is never told they were turned down.

How does the mess partner feature work?

You say which mess hall you eat in, and optionally your diet and the hour you usually go. The app then shows you the whole ranked pool of students who fit — never a shortlist — and you narrow it yourself by branch, year or shared interests. Eat with the same person often enough and they show up as one of your regulars, with the streak counting plates shared rather than app opens.

How does the library partner feature work?

You fill in your real timetable once, and it matches you with students whose free hours actually overlap with yours. No shared free hour means no match, rather than a bad one ranked low. If nothing lines up exactly it says "no exact match" and shows you the closest options — looser hours, or people free with you at another time — instead of a blank screen. Chat is never locked: message first and agree an hour later, or lock a slot and a desk up front.

What is a token in Campus Coffee?

A token is what prints when two students tap each other: a place, a time, and the colour you said you'd be wearing. It exists to delete the part where two people spend three days deciding where and when. You both check in within about thirty metres of the spot, and ten minutes later the app has nothing left to do.

Is Campus Coffee safe, and what happens to my photos?

Every account is tied to a verified college email, so you're only ever matched with other students on your campus. Photos start blurred, and each person controls only their own face — the blur is applied when the photo is viewed, never baked into a file. While a blind match is anonymous, chat blocks links, handles and phone numbers on the server. There are no public ratings and no read receipts, and turning someone down is never announced to them.

How do I sign up, and do I need to install an app?

There is nothing to download. Open campuscoffee.online in your phone's browser, continue with Google, and send the code it shows you from your college email address. You can add it to your home screen and get lock-screen notifications if you want, but it works as a website either way. Once you're verified, three names land at ten the next morning.
